19 Golder Street

The restoration of this 1850s Gothic Revival farmhouse earned Peter and his wife an Historic Preservation Merit Award from the Historic Albany Foundation in 2004.

Before restoration in 2000

Over 70,000 pounds of stucco, plaster and clapboard were removed from the house, prior to the installation of new siding and new interior surfaces.

After restoration

The farmhouse was restored with patient attention to detail. This was a complete renovation project, as most of the building's exterior and interior had been "re-muddled" or suffered damage in earlier decades. In addition, Peter created a design for an architecturally-compatible addition plus outbuildings in the Gothic style, as well as 900 square-foot studio to the east of the house.
